The Room Above's Grand Re-Opening Night!
After being closed for 2 months due to a renovation The Room Above is back with a top notch grand re-opening night!
We have stand up in the opening section featuring great performances by;
Ben Pope
Ben Pope is a stand-up comedian, writer and comedy performer, gigging across the UK. His critically-acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe shows Baby Sasquatch (2018) and Dancing Bear (2019) were 'consistently funny and deceptively thoughtful' (The Scotsman), transferring to London’s Soho Theatre. Ben was also one third of the cult sketch group Princes of Main, previously worked with the award-winning NewsRevue, and has appeared on Achievement Unlocked (Comedy Central), Comedy Guide to Life (Dave) and BBC New Comedy Award on Radio 4 Extra.
Alex Stevens
Alex is a burgeoning comedic talent, fresh onto the scene and with absolutely no right to be bringing a show to the Fringe.Alex would like to stress that a recent critic who described his act as ‘the death knell of live comedy’ caught him on a bad day, and would like to redirect your attention to a recent review that affirmed: ‘He gave it a bloody good go!’
Holly Leggett
Holly is a stand up comedian based in Bath, regularly performing in Bristol and the South West. She has a dry, monotonal and snipey style of comedy and runs a weekly gig in Bath showcasing the emerging talent of the South West. Holly has just finished running ‘The Poor Mans Fringe’, which is the first month long comedy festival in Bath.
Got Legs
performing their ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Edinburgh sell out show - Waddle!
Got Legs are the resident sketch troupe at renowned Bristol black box theatre - The Room AboveWith three shows under their belt so far and sights set on a four-week Fringe furore, the group blend absurdist humour with riotous realism in strong, character driven comedy that leaves little wanted.Borne out of a post-lockdown drive to entertain and perform, Got Legs draws on years of collective experience in theatre and film to bring you boundary breaching sketch comedy that will leave you simultaneously on the edge of your seat and on the floor in stitches.
