Looking to perform with us, we have open spots on our Monday new material night and pro opening and closing spots for weekend comedy. We're looking to reliable and dedicated people who can help with box-office, ushering and the general day to day running of the theatre. Event Manager;
We’re hiring a selection of Event Managers to ensure the smooth running of all of our events at both The Room Above and Basement 45, the duties will include;
- Setting up of the performance space
- Setting up of the technical equipment
- Operating the tech during the show
- Checking customers tickets as they arrive
- Cleaning up the space after the event
- Supervising and managing the whole evening event
Marketing Manager
As The Room Above begins to expand we’re looking for a new Marketing Manager to come onboard part time to help us grow. Responsibilities will include;
- Social Media Management and Design
Creating innovative video clips
- Poster designs
- Social Media Scheduling
- Communicating and working with press
- bringing us fresh new ideas and projects to helps us grow

Bringing Your Show to the Room Above
The Room Above is always looking to support and stage productions from new and exciting companies located in the South West while hosting UK touring fringe theatre. We're passionate about supporting new companies starting their journey and we're here to help every step of the way. Our stage can be set at a 4 ft x 12 ft or an 8 ft x 12 ft for end on performances but our space is also flexible to be transformed into traverse and thrust so get in touch for more information. Our space operates from a small venue hire fee followed by a box office split.
When contacting us with your show proposal please include as much information as possible about the show, yourselves, your company and performance requirements. If you could also include the dates you're looking to bring your show here and how long the run is intending to be - including planning morning / matinee performances. Our space is welcome to all forms of classic, contemporary and devised theatre, as well as comedy, improv, sketch, dance, music, poetry and spoken word. We like to book performances that are going to entertain and inspire a younger generation of audience members as our average audience age is 18 - 34.
Here at The Room Above we get a high number of emails per day enquiring about our performance space so please be patient when reaching out to us. We'll aim to respond to you as soon as possible but this could take a few weeks.
