The Lovely Boys
The Lovely Boys are a northern alternative comedy/clown double act made up of performers Joe Kent-Walters and Mikey Bligh-Smith. They are both real life best friends, having grown up and gone to school together in rural Huddersfield. In 2018, under the mentorship of award winning clowns Christian Brighty and Luke Rollason, the two began performing together and since then they have delighted audiences across the country with their quirky, charming and truly absurd performances. The double act has become very well established on the alternative comedy scene, performing at events such as The Alternative Comedy Memorial Society, 110% John Kearns and Pat Cahill, The Cardboard News Network and Elf Lyon’s House of Horrors. Recently, both performers have begun studying together at Ecole Phillipe Gaulier and received funding for their monthly comedy cabaret in Leeds, “The Lovely Boys and Friends”. Joe Kent-Walters is also the winner of the Chortle Student Comedy Award 2021 with Steve Bennett calling him “a mesmerising and unpredictable presence.”
