Hello! Sam Williams here - thanks for reading my show description. Like A Prayer is a 45 minute work-in-progress standup comedy show about queerness, faith, and trying to get a grip on early adulthood. I grew up as a bisexual atheist in a conservative Christian town. I''m still just as confused about my sexuality, but now I go to church. It's not a crackpot fire and brimstone evangelist cult, mind you - it's a progressive/non-conformist church that is just as confused about what it's supposed to be as I am about myself. Is this just a phase, then? A rebellion against my militantly atheist parents? Is it a crisis of identity that will pass? I'm writing this in January for a show in August so I don't know yet, but judging from my track record, there will be jokes about wanking at some point.
