The comedy-dense monthly improv show hits the Room Above. The best improvisational comedy groups finally come together to show off their comedy chops!
First up, The Room Above's all-star shortform squad brings the fast-paced  short-form improv to the night. Think the best bits, games, and challenges you've seen from your favourite talk shows. A series of improvised scenes expertly performed by the squad and each scene inspired by a slew of audience suggestions. This is the perfect introduction to improv for the uninitiated - a guaranteed laugh.
Post intermission, a selection of the burgeoning scene's best sketch-based improv groups will bring their A-game for your viewing pleasure. Each group will develop an audience suggestion into a whole mini show tailored to you - all of this within a fast-paced, gong inducing, hilarious hour of comedy.
Each and every show is completely different - and always created in the moment. But don't worry - they know what their doing.

Shows have featured:
Jazz Police:
Since forming in 2019, Jazz Police have performed improv comedy all over the UK, including at the Edinburgh International Improv Festival and the Birmingham Comedy Festival. Prepare to dive headfirst into a world of side-splitting scenes and comedic bits, as an entire show is effortlessly crafted from a single word.
‘Damn near perfect improv‘ – The Glasgow Improv Theatre

The Groundhogs:
Who are the Groundhogs? And what do they do??? First they'll improvise a comedy sketch for you. Then they'll repeat it. Then they'll repeat it again. Maybe they'll even do it AGAIN after that. But will the sketch be exactly the same each time...? (Spoiler: It will not)

Birdwatchers:
In their original “epilogue” format, Birdwatchers explore the present and past of 2 characters reminiscing together. The exploratory flashbacks combine comedic elements, heartfelt scenes, and absolutely ridiculous moments that are sure to make you laugh and think that maybe your own family isn’t that weird after all.

Birdwatchers is performed by Anna Kemp (This Is Your Musical, Last Day on Earth, Detect This) and Paige Tummons (Jazz Police, The Unscripted Players). They recently supported Bareback Kings and won Improv Cagematch in 2019.
Last Day on Earth:
Last Day On Earth feature performers from: This Is Your Musical, Up The Antics & After Dusk: The Improvised Twilight Zone. Last Day on Earth have travelled all over the country with their chaotic, hilarious comedic style and consistently deliver premium laughter.

Up The Antics:
Bristol-based Up The Antics (as heard on BBC Radio 4) take us down the rabbit hole of improvised sketch comedy. With the suggestion of a location, the antics will explore the characters and journeys taken to arrive there, with hilarious results.
